Pramod Jaiswal’s primary focus is on insurgencies, border management, terrorism, illegal migration, radicalism, and ethnic conflicts. He specialises in South Asia with a focus on Nepal and China’s role in the region.He has authored Nepal-China Relations, 1990-2009, and has co-edited India-China-Nepal: Decoding Trilateralism and Unique Asian Triangle: India-China-Nepal. He holds a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Prior to IPCS, he worked with the South Asia Research Centre, Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), New Delhi, and with Rising Nepal, a Kathmandu-based English daily.
