R Rajaraman

Professor Rajaraman is the Emeritus Professor of Physics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is also a co-chair of the International Panel on Fissile Materials (2006- present). Formerly, he has been the Vice-President of the Indian National Science Academy (2009-2012), Member of the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, Member of the Asia Pacific Leadership Network, Member of Permanent Monitoring Panel on Mitigating Terrorism, and Member of the Pugwash Council.
He has completed his PhD from Cornell University. He has teaching and research experience in theoretical physics at Cornell University, the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, Delhi University, the Indian Institute of Science, and during Sabbatical visits at Harvard, Stanford, MIT, and CERN. He has also been the Leo Szilard Award by the American Physical Society for his work.
