Since 2005, Pakistan and India have pursued an outof- the-box approach to Kashmir which involves incremental growth in cross-LoC interactions. The new people-centric approach has led to the opening of cross-LoC travel, economic exchanges and sporadic interaction between the Kashmiri leadership on either side, leading to a certain degree of symbolic softening of the LoC.
