NA session summoned with agenda yet not clear

The News, 9 March 2010

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned the session of the National Assembly on Thursday but the question is still persisting that the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), which has 124 members in the 342-member National Assembly, would agree to convert its president as a figurehead and superficial head of the state who has also managed to become head of the ruling party. The Parliament’s Special Committee on Constitutional Reforms (PSCCR) under Senator Mian Raza Rabbani will have its crucial meeting here in the Parliament House today (Tuesday) and it is understood that it would finalise the recommendations on the thorny question of the provincial autonomy.
