Defence ministry to purchase 6 more Akash squadrons

The Defence Ministry has decided to procure six more squadrons of Akash - the medium range surface-to-air missiles - from public sector unit Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Defence Minister A. K. Antony said.The decision was taken at the Defence Acquisition Council meeting on Monday, Mr. Antony told reporters.
