Army jawan killed as troops foil infiltration bid in J&K
JAMMU: An Army jawan was killed as troops foiled yet another bid by militants to infiltrate under the cover of firing from Pakistani side along Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior army official said on Thursday. This is the fourth infiltration bid in past 12 days and sixth in the last three weeks along the Indo-Pak border in J&K. Now, a global tourist resort at Wagah-Attari border
NEW DELHI: Tourism minister Ambika Soni on Tuesday inaugurated a tourist resort, Aman Umeed Bhavan, earlier popularly known as Neem Chameli, at th e Attari-Wagah international border near Amritsar. The complex has a built up area of about 10,000 sq ft and is spread over 1.75 acres of land, with facilities of restaurants, bar, shops, rooms and toilet facilities for domestic as well as foreign tourists, in particular from Pakistan. It also has a reception and a lobby. Speaking on the occasion, Soni said the flow of tourists from across the border would help in further promoting peace between the two countries. She added that tourism had vast potential for employment generation and an institute of hotel management set up in the area would provide opportunities for youth to work in the sector ...
