SPEAKERS

Ambassador (Retd) Salman Haidar is Patron, IPCS, and a former Foreign Secretary of India. Among other diplomatic postings, he has served as India's Ambassador to China and High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. From 1977-80, he was the Minister/Deputy Permanent Representative of India at the United Nations in New York. In New Delhi, he also served as Secretary East, Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, and later, as Chief of Protocol.

Professor TV Paul is James McGill Professor of International Relations in the Department of Political Science at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, where he has been teaching since 1991. Prof Paul specialises in International Relations, especially international security and South Asia, and was President of the International Studies Association (ISA) for 2016-17. He received his undergraduate education from Kerala University, India; MPhil in International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; and PhD in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prof Paul is the author or editor of 16 books and has also published nearly 60 journal articles and book chapters.
